An opera double bill of two one-act operas exploring our relationship with technology. In Francis Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine, we see one side of a telephone conversation from the woman's perspective as she compplains to her lover that he has left her and threatens to kill herself. In Gian Menotti’s The Telephone, we watch Ben struggle to gain Lucy's attention to propose to her as she is constantly distracted by gossip on her telephone.

The focus for this production is on the impact the development of the telephone had on our relationships, connecting people across vast distances with an immediacy not seen before.​
